The policy in the area of environment preservation is one of priorities of SU ‘Belvtormet’ activity. It is directed on minimizing of technogenic influence on environment, health protection and safety of workers.

One of priorities of SU ‘Belvtormet’ activity is realization of a policy in the area of preservation of the environment. The policy in the area of preservation of the environment establishes the general direction and principles of nature protection activity of the enterprise, provides a basis for the further work and working out of the target and planned ecological indicators, making the demands to parameters of environment and efficiency of ecological activity.

SU ‘Belvtormet’ policy in the area of preservation of the environment contains statements for aspiration to:

• conformity to standard legal certificates in the area of preservation of the environment;
• pollution prevention;
• constant perfection of preservation of the environment.

Work on preservation of the environment and rational use of natural resources provides:

• observance and performance of all requirements of standard legal certificates in the area of preservation of the environment and rational use of natural resources;
• realization of industrial inspection in the area of preservation of the environment:
• studying and introduction of the advanced methods of the organization of works in the area of preservation of the environment and rational use of natural resources;
• application of effective resource-saving, energy saving, low-wasted, ecologically safe technologies and the technics, reducing harmful influence on environment;
• drawing up of the state statistical reporting about use of natural resources and preservations of the environment under the established form and their granting in corresponding state structures;
• receiving in accordance with the established procedure permissions on:
  
  
  1. production wastes disposal;
  2. emissions of polluting substances in atmosphere;
  3. special water use.
• the coordination with territorial bodies of Ministry for Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources of limits of sewage dumps and production wastes disposal.
• informing of bodies of Ministry for Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources and sanitary inspection on excess of the established specifications of emissions (dumps) of polluting substances in environment with indication of the reasons and accepted measures on elimination, and also about emergencies;
• working out and documenting of system of material and power resources rationing;
• training of workers in the area of preservation of the environment;
• attraction of workers to responsibility for non-observance of requirements on preservation of the environment;
• working out of plans of measures under the prevention and liquidation of failures and other extreme situations in the area of preservation of the environment;
• the coordination with bodies of Ministry for Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources, bodies of the state sanitary inspection of the actions, directed on prevention of pollution of air pool;
• control of sources of pollution of atmospheric air according to standard legal certificates;
• control of operation of installations of gas clearing and dust catching;
• carrying out of inventory of emissions sources in atmosphere;
• working out and realization of measures on toxicity decrease, smoke of exhaust gases, neutralization of the polluting substances, containing in emissions of mobile sources, transition to less toxic kinds of fuel;
• accounting of quantity of input, used and dumped waters;
• the maintenance in good repair of cleared and other water economic constructions and devices and observance of the established rules of their operation;
• working out and approval in coordination with bodies of Ministry for Protection of the Environment and Natural Resources of specifications of production wastes formation;
• realization of the recycling of wastes according to the confirmed instruction on the recycling of wastes according to nature protection, sanitary, fire-prevention and other requirements in an order, established by the legislation of the Republic of Belarus;
• conducting of primary account of wastes on the basis of the analysis of material balance, use of raw materials and their consumption to output and services rendering;
• observance of norms and the control of the use of the mineral oil, cutting emulsions, washing-up liquids and other chemical materials, prevention of their hit in water drain system, water objects, soil;
• gardening and accomplishment of enterprise territory and legislation observance on protection of objects of flora.

SU ‘Belvtormet’ takes care of formation of its own ecological image, that appreciably defines success of activity in preparation and processing of a breakage and wastes of ferrous metals.
